We are Eliska and Toby, we are both teachers, both interested in moving towards a more human version of Education. These courses are an antidote to the types of INSET days we have felt subjected to. We wanted to find something better for our colleagues, we didn’t, so we made it. We want to embrace technology, collaboration, conversation and innovative academic theory and practice. We didn’t want our colleagues spending hours listening to presentations they could have read by themselves. We are passionate about providing the best possible experiences for young people. We think this involves rethinking the role of the teacher and working together to forge legitimate alternatives. Please have a browse through our pages and get in touch if you are interested.
Eliska is one of the co-founders of The Compass Primary School. She is also Director of The Globe Kindergarten. A Czech mum and fluent English Speaker, Eliska is an organiser, and a committed Educator with 15 years experience in schools.
Toby has worked in Wellbeing Initiatives in International Schools across the world. He has contributed to the IBO’s Social and Emotional Literacy Committee and has presented at conferences across the world on Wellbeing in Education. Toby is an English dad and lives in Somerset in the United Kingdom.
This is important: We are educators. We aren’t academics. We don’t want to accredit this course through a ministry, (well not yet). We are happy for schools to approach the course but we won’t take conscript participants. We are more interested in individual teachers signing up- because they recognise and sing in harmony with our values.
